Federal Law: The 2018 Farm Bill defines industrial hemp as any derivative of the Cannabis sativa L. plant that contains less than 0.3% delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis.

State Law Examples:

Virginia: In a nutshell, cannabinoid products in Virginia must not only contain less than 0.3% (to satisfy both state and federal requirements) but must also contain less than 2mg THC per package.

New York: Edibles products must have a 15-to-1 ratio of CBD to THC. Such products are also limited to no more than 10 milligrams of THC per package and 1 milligram per serving.
